Father Opens Fire On Car With 2-Year-Old Son In It

Pasadena Police are looking for the shooter and an accomplice.

A man opened fire at a car with his 2-year-old son and the child's mother in it in Pasadena, and police were looking for the shooter and an accomplice today.

Four bullets hit the vehicle, but neither the woman, 22, nor the toddler were injured in the volley of gunfire at 2 p.m. Saturday along Hammond Street at Raymond Avenue, said Lt. Jason Clawson of the Pasadena Police Department.

The father and the mother were believed to have been arguing, Clawson said. She drove away with the child and was followed by the father and a 21- year-old Eagle Rock man in another vehicle until both cars came to a stop at the intersection and father allegedly opened fire, said the lieutenant.

Initially, there was no evidence of a shooting or witnesses.

"Everyone just heard shots," Clawson said.

But about an hour later, the mother contacted the police from Altadena to report the shooting, the lieutenant said.

The father and the other man who rode along with him have yet to be publicly identified because of an ongoing investigation, Clawson said.
