Updated: Rescues In Eaton Canyon Area

County Fire took care of an injured hiker, while Search and Rescue team members aided a woman in her 60s near Eaton Canyon's first waterfall.

Update (2:06 p.m.): Sheriff's Air-5 addressed the day's second rescue call, a woman in her 60s who was traveling near the first waterfall in Eaton Canyon, according to authorities. She suffered a head injury and was transported to a local hospital.

Update: Sgt. Debra Herman of the Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station said that county fire officials have taken care of the injured hiker, who had a leg injury. However, Search and Rescue team members are now responding to another call that went out less than 30 minutes ago. In addition to that, animal control has also been contacted to look for a dog that has fallen over the side and has been barking.

Original: Sheriff's Air-5 and county fire officials are in the Eaton Canyon area responding to a 10:15 a.m. Saturday morning call regarding an injured hiker. No other details on the rescue were available, as they are still in the process of getting to the hiker, authorities said.
