Update: Missing Eaton Canyon Hikers Found

The group was being hiked out of the area by Altadena Search and Rescue shortly after 11 a.m. Friday, according to authorities.

Update at 11:15 a.m.

Five hikers reported missing around 6:40 a.m. by one of the hiker's parents Friday morning were found uninjured by Altadena Search and Rescue and were being walked out of the Eaton Canyon area shortly after 11 a.m., Sergeant Booker Hollis of the Crescenta Valley Station told Patch.

"They didn't bother to tell anyone they were staying the night there," said Hollis.

The group apparently embarked on an 8-hour hike at 8 a.m. Thursday and then decided to spend the night in the Eaton Canyon area. They had food and water with them, Hollis noted.

The group "should be coming up in the next 10 to 15 minutes," Hollis said around 11:10 a.m.

All the hikers are in their mid-20s and there is at least one female in the group.
