The Altadena Sheriff's Station will conduct a TEEN CERT Training Saturday, July 20 and Saturday July 27 from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Farnsworth Park (568 E. Mount Curve Ave., Altadena).

“Teen CERT training teaches you about the potential disasters that could affect your area and how to safely and responsibly respond to them,” an Altadena Sheriff’s Station statement notes. “Through Teen CERT you can serve your community and help take care of your school and home.”

During an emergency, especially a large natural disaster, police and fire officials may not be able to assist everyone right away or be hindered by certain circumstances, so CERT acts as a way for residents to help themselves and others near them.
