The pair was brought in by the Altadena Mountain Rescue Team from their hike to the Mt. Lowe Tavern and Mueller Tunnel.

Two men out hiking in high heat Sunday afternoon had to be located, walked out and transported to the local hospital for heat exhaustion, according to Lt. Angela Shepherd of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The two hikers were on a hike to the Mt. Lowe Tavern and Mueller Tunnel, Shepherd said.  They were brought down by the Altadena Mountain Rescue Team around 1 p.m. and brought to Huntington Hospital, where they were treated for heat exhaustion and dehydration.

The high temperature in Altadena yesterday was 100 degrees and it reached that peak at 1:05 p.m, according to Weather.com

The two are Sun Valley residents, Shepherd said.
