Mr. Lamb was raised in Altadena and is a fifth generation resident of the area. He attended public schools in the PUSD, PCC, and graduated from CSULA . He taught school briefly, but missed working with buildings as he has in college, so along with Bill Dancy Robert Nailon, he formed Arroyo Restorations a firm that specialized in restoring historically and Architecturally significant buildings. Mr. Lamb also apprenticed to several Architects. Presently, Mr. Lamb operates Steven S. Lamb Residenitial Designs.

Mr. Lamb began his public service life as a volunteer at Centrum of Hollywood and the Hollywood Lifeline. Later he volunteered on many Historic Preservation battles, served on the Pasadena Strategic Planning Committee and it's Land Use sub Committee, The ALtadena Town Council, The Altadena Town Council Land Use Committee, The Altadena Library Board, The Board of the Christmas Tree Lane Association, the Board of the Altadena Chamber of Commerce, The Board of Friends of the Foothills, Christians for Justice, and Mr. Lamb is presently the President of the Society of Organic Architects.
